World Missions

Every year, the 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene supports missionary efforts throughout the U.S. and around the globe by annual offerings for missions, evangelical work, and relief causes. We also support personal missionary visits from our church members; and participate in collections of school supplies, sundries, gift boxes, food or clothing drives for special projects for the needy.

During the holiday season, we hand out “shoe boxes” for the annual Operation Christmas Child. We ask each of you to sign out one or two boxes, mark them for a boy or a girl, and fill them with toiletries (like toothbrush/toothpaste, bar soap, deodorant, comb/brush, mirror), school supplies, markers/colored pencils, hard candy, gum, and perhaps a small toy or stuffed animal. The filled boxes are then returned to the church for shipment to Samaritan’s Purse, where they are distributed to needy children around the world.

ALSO, watch this page for travel reports from members of our congregation and for periodic letters from Karen Welker, our missionary in Thailand.
