Selah - July 2008 - The Sweet P’s from Psalm 23
May I first suggest making yourself a cup coffee or tea or maybe get a cool drink. Get comfortable in your favorite chair and then take your Bible and open it to Psalm 23. Read the entire Psalm silently, and then read it out loud so you can listen in on what is being said. Then read it again out loud, but make it personal. Preface the third reading with, “Charlie (put your name here), this is the Lord God speaking to you. This Word has been provided from My heart to your heart. Please accept this love gift from Me to you.” Now read Psalm 23.
Now that you have allowed the Word to saturate your mind and heart, let’s journey back together through Psalm 23.
Verse 1 that tells us of God’s wonderful provision.
Verse 2 reflects His peace for His kids. Here is a bonus for you readers out there, check out Psalm 4:8.
Verse 3 reveals His glorious gift of pardon. Isaiah 55:7 echoes this Truth.
Verse 4 proclaims His protection for His kids. If you need some back-up to this proclamation, turn your eyes upon Psalm 91:1-2.
Verse 5 speaks to us about God’s personal preparation for His kids. Jesus Christ plays a powerful role in this preparation. Read about it in John 14:2.
Verse 6 provides us with a beautiful prospect that is something to be looking forward to. John on the island of Patmos was give a vision of this verse, which he wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in Revelation 22:14.
I hope you enjoyed our journey together in God’s Word. Hide His Word in your heart.
Selah: think on these things
