Selah – May 2009 – Financial Challenges and God’s Promises
With the world facing great financial challenges, and dividends shrinking or even disappearing, and promises being broken, the one great and only true God calls to all humankind to come to Him and cash in His promises. So many people are being affected in one way or another these days. Jehovah is calling to all humankind to come to Him through His Son, the Savior Jesus Christ and benefit from His precious promises.
According to 1 Peter 1:4, all His kids in His kingdom have been given His very great and valuable promises that provide an escape from the evil in this world. What are these promises? There are many promises, but let us look at some of them.
Jesus said, “That the Father in heaven will give us a Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener” (John 14:16). Jesus said, “I leave you My peace” (John 14:27). This is a peace that passes all understanding. Jesus said, “I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).
What an adventurous, abundant, and eternal life it is in Jesus Christ. Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote, “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Jesus Christ” (Philippians 4:19). That provision is plentiful.
The Apostle John was inspired to write, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sins” (1 John 1:7). This is a fellowship that is founded on purity. Jesus also said, “You shall receive power, ability, efficiency, and might when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” (Acts 1:8).
If this is not enough, God provides us with protection when He promises, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them” (Psalm 34:7). Loneliness is something that God does not want His kids to endure. That is why God said, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
These are only a few among the many promises God is calling His children to cash in and enjoy the dividends of. These promises are forever. They come from a great God who loves you and has the very best for you.
Are you a kingdom child? You can be. It is very simple. It is up to you. You must decide for yourself, if you are willing to turn from your sins and ask Jesus Christ into your heart. Take the time to do that right now and pray, “Jesus, I ask You into my heart to be my Savior and Lord, forgive me of my sins, and please give me the gift of eternal life.” If you prayed that prayer, I would like to congratulate you on your new journey, filled with hope and eternal promises.
Don't stop here, but get baptized and get involved in a local church. You can't travel this road alone. Set some time aside each day for prayer to the living God, who hears and answers your prayers, and learn about His heart by reading the Bible. Share with others what Jesus Christ has done for you. You will be eternally grateful.
