Community Outreach

29 Palms Community Food Pantry: The 28 Palms Community Food Pantry is hosted by 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene in its building complex across the street from the church, at 6582 49 Palms Avenue. Our church supports this ministry for needy families of the community and is grateful to be able to offer one of its buildings for the pantry storage, operations, and volunteer workers. Donations of food and money are always welcome! The pantry is open on the first, third (and sometimes fifth) Saturdays each month from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. For other hours during the week, contact the church office for information (367-7025) or visit the 29 Palms Food Pantry web site at: www.29palmsfoodpantry.org ... Shepherd’s Closet: When one door closes, another one opens... For several years, the building complex across the street from 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene has also been home to the Shepherd’s Closet. In September 2007, the free clothing giveaway at the Shepherd’s Closet came to an end. The building will soon be reorganized to serve other outreach needs, including an office and expanded classroom for weekly Bible studies. Stay tuned.

Reach Out Morongo Basin: Our church also supports other faith-based programs in the community such as Reach Out Morongo Basin (formerly Reach Out 29). Visit their web site to learn more about their outreach efforts, volunteer opportunities, and interfaith caregiving for seniors and disabled. www.reachout29.org
