Mission Statement

The mission statement of the 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene is to make Jesus Christ visible and real to the Morongo Basin that the Basin could not live without Christ and His church. Making disciples for Jesus Christ is a priority.

Personal Mission Statement

My personal mission statement is to be the voice that speaks the Truth, the hands that touch with love and compassion, the feet that go into the highways and by-ways with the Gospel, the eyes to see the needs of His people, the mind to know how to respond to those needs, and the heart to cherish my God and His people all the days of my life.  -Pastor Charles F. Zwicker

Vision Statement

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
-Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV

To fulfill the vision, we must accept the responsibility and seriousness for the care and attention we should give the new believer in order to reproduce Christ’s character in him or her. A team effort is required and a teachable spirit must prevail in all His workers. We are called to make disciples who can reproduce disciples. In order to do this, a passion and conviction to see this command of Christ’s must be deeply rooted in our hearts to have it become a reality in our local church.

Our Church Leaders

CBZwicker

Lead Pastor: Charles F. Zwicker
I was born in New York and raised in the Bronx. While serving in the Air Force in California, I met my future wife, Barbara, and we were married in 1971. I was saved at the Santa Rosa Church of the Nazarene in northern California in 1978. I studied for the ministry and ten years later was called to pastor the Santa Rosa Church. I have been a pastor in Clearlake (CA), traveled with my family ministering to children, and have been in the 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene since 1993. My call is to minister to the people of the Morongo Basin and bring the glorious hope of Jesus Christ. This divine call is as strong today as it was when I first arrived here nearly 15 years ago. Blessings on you all!

Leader of Prayer: Harold Daniel Hanselman
I surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ in May 1984. I met my wife Jackie at the church we were attending, and we married in February 1987. Jackie and I led intercessory prayer at Faith Covenant Fellowship. When we received a call to Haiti in 1989, I completed a 10-week Bible School with Gospel Crusade in Bradenton, Florida, and we spent nine months in Haiti teaching pastor intercession and prayer walking the land with the leading of the Holy Spirit. This was followed by a prayer walk around the United States. During the ’90s we began to travel to California teaching intercession. Knowing that I needed to further develop my gifting, I completed two years of Prophetic Ministry training at Morningstar School of Ministry (1997-99). By the direction of the Lord, we left family, friends, and moved to Joshua Tree, CA, in July 1999. This was our leap of faith to move across country without a church, family, or means of support. The Lord has been faithful. In 2003 we were led to 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene where I have served on the board, in the Shepherd’s Closet, and as leader of prayer.

Lead Worshiper: Jared Zwicker
I have been playing music (from the piano to the drums and guitar) most of my life. Together with my wife, Jaime, a native daughter of 29 Palms, we have been involved in worship for the past seven years at 29 Palms Church of the Nazarene.  It wasn’t until I was in the church’s worship team as the drummer for about two years that I felt the call from God on my life to be a leader in worship. In 2002, I was given the opportunity to lead the worship on Sunday mornings. I have learned so much about our God and my role as lead worshiper. He has taken both myself and the church into deeper, more intimate times with Him in worship. I pray that He will continue to mold me and teach me to walk out this life He has given me, and that I might worship Him not only in song but with my very life.
